The Times-Picayune confirms a report by Omega Underground that Channing Tatum’s GAMBIT is set to start filming in New Orleans this March. According to the city and state’s film offices, the production (working under the titled of “Forevermore”) will be on-location for an estimated 70 days.
This is likely one of several locations where filming will take place. Based off earlier versions of the film’s screenplay, Omega Underground speculates they could be setting up production in Paris and London due to the fact that Tatum is producing Zombie Brother in London around the same time.
Gambit has famously had a long pre-production process, going through multiple directors and script rewrites. The production was originally operating under a budget of $155 million, although updated numbers under director Gore Verbinski are unavailable at this time.
Besides Tatum, the only other known cast member is Lizzy Caplan, who was last reported as being in talks for an unspecified role.
Gambit is scehduled for a Feb. 14, 2019 theatrical release.
