Hugh Jackman says Wolverine is “frustrated” by Deadpool in Deadpool 3.

Legendary X-Men star Hugh Jackman teased his return in Marvel Studios’ UNTITLED DEADPOOL AND WOLVERINE FILM with The Empire Film Podcast, revealing that Wolverine and Deadpool “hate each other,” in the movie… at least from Logan’s point of view. “I’m just talking from my perspective,” he said. “[He’s] frustrated by him, and wants to be a million miles away from him or wants to punch him in the head. Unfortunately, he can’t be a million miles away from him in this movie, so I’m probably going to punch him in the head a lot.”

So how does LOGAN director James Mangold feel about Jackman coming back after the events of his solo finale? “He was actually really cool about it. I did tell him that it took place before our movie, so I wasn’t gonna screw with the claws popping out of the grave. So he was relieved by that, and he totally got it. He thought it was a good idea. None of us wanted to screw with that. I was really proud of that movie and what we did, and it felt perfect. And actually for five year, I was a really, honestly, I can tell you, I was kind of a hard done. I was like, this was it. August 14, I remember driving, and it just came to me like that. I just thought this would be so much fun. I’ll probably have more fun on that movie than anything I’ve ever done… this year, and August 13 I was like, ‘I’m never playing that part again,’ I promise you.”

Does he expect his return to be a one and done, or are there multiple appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe planned? “I imagine every movie as a one and done, that’s how I see it,” said Jackman. “I’ll be honest, I had a two picture deal at the beginning, but I still assumed it was a one of done. You know, back then there were no comic book movies, so I just take it one at a time. I’m lucky that way, I don’t have to think beyond that, but I think it’s the best way to go.”

Deadpool 3 will begin filming late Spring/early Summer ’23 and is scheduled to arrive in cinemas on November 8, 2024.
