DC’s official YouTube channel released a full-length scene from Superman (2025) featuring Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane interviewing David Corenswet’s Clark Kent, who, of course, is also Superman. It’s probably my favorite moment from the film.
Right away, the chemistry between Brosnahan and Corenswet crackles on screen. Brosnahan brings a sharp, no-nonsense energy to Lois, exactly what you’d expect from the Daily Planet’s star reporter. Corenswet captures both the warmth and inner conflict of Clark/Superman with real nuance. It’s not just a flirty back-and-forth; there’s substance here, and it feels like a fresh but respectful take on their dynamic.
What really stood out in the scene was how naturally it raised the question that every superhero film has to wrestle with: Should superheroes be governed? In the middle of what could have been a puff piece interview, Lois challenges Clark with some hard-hitting questions about accountability, oversight, and power, and Corenswet’s Superman doesn’t shy away from answering. It’s grounded in a way that reminds me of the best parts of The West Wing or The Dark Knight trilogy, but with its own, Superman-flavored idealism.
This scene makes it clear that director James Gunn’s Superman (2025) isn’t just about action and spectacle (though there’s plenty of that too). It takes time to explore the concious of these characters, which is one of the film’s emotional anchors.
Superman is now available on digital and physial release.
