The King of the Monsters is back, and this time, everything ends here. The official trailer for Godzilla Minus Zero, the highly anticipated sequel to Godzilla Minus One, has been released, giving fans their first major look at Takashi Yamazaki’s next chapter in the Japanese Godzilla saga. Yamazaki returns as writer, director, and VFX supervisor, with the film once again promising a devastating mix of human drama and monster-scale destruction.

Set two years after the events of Godzilla Minus One, Godzilla Minus Zero finds Japan struggling through the agonizing process of recovery. The country has gone from the devastation of war to “zero,” only for Godzilla to plunge it into “minus.” Just as humanity begins to reclaim some sense of peace and normalcy, a new threat strikes and crushes that hard-won hope in an instant. The film’s ominous tagline makes its stakes clear: “There is no third time. Everything ends here.”

The sequel is also breaking new ground for Japanese cinema as the first-ever Japanese production to be filmed specifically for IMAX. Shot entirely in Japan using high-definition digital cameras certified by IMAX, Godzilla Minus Zero has been optimized for the unique sound and imagery of IMAX screens, promising an even bigger and more terrifying experience when Godzilla returns to theaters.
