Actor Evan Peters told IGN that Bryan Singer used motion capture and other technology to achieve Quicksilver’s uncanny super-speed ability in X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. He also reveals that his character is “twitchy” and responds to criticisms on changes made from comics to film.
“They used motion capture,” Peters said of the speed effect. “I don’t know what I can say about it and not get in trouble, I really don’t. But they shot a lot of slow motion. They brought in an amazing camera, the Phantom –it’s, like, 3600 frames per second. They brought in these huge, bright lights and did some amazing, amazing stuff with it. I’m excited to see it all cut together and check all that out. It’s going to be really cool.”
The site also confirmed with Peters that Quicksilver spends his screen time with Hugh Jackman and James McAvoy in the 1970s portion of the film. He’ll play a “twitchy” teenager, which may differ a bit from the character in the comic books.
“Bryan Singer has a lot of creative freedom on these X-Men movies — he can do pretty much whatever he wants with them,” the actor says of the changes, while also noting that the possibility of comics fans reacting negatively to any alterations was definitely discussed while making the film. “There’s always that risk, but I think at the end of the day, you want to try to make the best movie you can. You kinda gotta go with your gut on that.”
hold on a sec? Quicksilver is from the past.. while Avenger’s Quicksilver is from the present.. is there any chances that he become the quicksilver in the future? Aaron Johnson’s character?
None! 😆
Short of Marvel and Disney, and 20th Century Fox sigining a new movie contract to make that official, the answer is No,
