“We’re so excited to explore this new part of the X-Men universe, and so excited to do it with Josh, who is uniquely suited to tell this story about young characters,” said Simon Kinberg last March, who’s producing with Lauren Shuler Donner.
A release date is to be announced. Boone said they’ll have a few years in the pipeline after DEADPOOL, X-MEN: APOCALYPSE, GAMBIT and WOLVERINE make their way to theaters. 20th Century Fox has claimed a July 13, 2018 release date for an “untitled Marvel film” that could be for this film or other developing projects, including crossovers or sequels to upcoming hits in 2016.
