Magneto upgraded in X-MEN: APOCALYPSE concept art. Plus: New DEADPOOL photos, magazine cover & infomercial.

Entertainment Weekly has released a new piece of concept artwork from X-MEN: APOCALYPSE showing Magneto (Michael Fassbender) bending his surrounding environment using upgraded powers from the villainous En Sabah Nur (Oscar Isaac). Psylocke (Olivia Munn) and Storm (Alexandra Shipp) are also featured.

“One of Apocalypse’s many powers is he can imbue other mutants with greater ones,” said director Bryan Singer. “[In the concept art] Magneto is demonstrating a small taste of what he can do now. Magneto is already enormously powerful. Now Apocalypse gives him powers far beyond what we’ve seen before.”

EW also has two new photos from DEADPOOL, featuring Ryan Reynolds’ Wade Wilson having a katana versus ax battle with Ed Skrein’s Ajax. “Ryan’s like Muhammad Ali, dancing around, whispering in my ear,” Skrein said. “And I’m George Foreman. Every blow is like a haymaker and I just want to take his head off.”

“Ed got yoked for the movie,” Reynolds said. “I saw his arms and got pretty upset at myself for not working out harder.”

On getting the character and tone of the film right, director Tim Miller said “Deadpool is nothing but tangents and our attitude was just ‘Let’s embrace him.’” Reynolds agreed, saying “[The set] was an alternate-joke factory. For one joke in the movie we wrote 16 versions.”

‘Apocalypse’ hits theaters on May 27, 2016. ‘Deadpool’ comes just a few months earlier on February 12, 2016.
