Earlier this month, THE MARVELS director Nia DaCosta told AP Entertainment she pressed Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige for more X-Men in the film. “So Kevin – it’s one of our fights,” she laughed. “I really was pushing so much X-Men. He was like, ‘We have to just be very calm about this and be measured adults.’ Which is why he’s the boss. He knows better than I do, and I’m a big nerd who needs to be reigned in, so…”
DaCosta was able to get a great end credits sequence featuring two characters in an X-Men setting, so win-win. “There are a couple,” she continued. “Of course we have a mutant in the movie, so that’s amazing. And then I got, you know, maybe I got my little Easter Eggs in as well.”
We can’t help but wonder if she pushed for Rogue to cameo in the film; a character that has a dark history with Captain Marvel. In the comics, she violently drained Carol Danvers of her powers, which placed her into a coma. Teasing her surely would’ve set fandom ablaze…
Thanks to @XMenUpdates for the heads up!
