Director James Mangold recently debuted a new photo of Stephen Merchant in LOGAN. Merchant followed this up with another photo, showing his character covered with a cowboy hat and bandanna. Though not officially announced, the assumption is that Merchant is playing an older Caliban – an albino mutant morlock, originally played by Tómas Lemarquis in X-Men: Apocalypse.

He may very likely be the “sunseeker” that star Hugh Jackman tweeted about, showing the interior of a car, with newspaper fastened to the overhead mirror.
Perhaps he hides out in this car to avoid the Sun?
In other news, we have our first look at one of the villainous “Reavers” in the film, thanks to the latest black and white photo from the film’s official instagram.
According to Christopher M at Omega Underground, the actor shown is likely David Kallaway. The site learned through behind the scene photos that Matthew McClain, Justin LeBrun and James Rawlings all play Reavers in the film, potentially led by Boyd Holbrook, who sports a bionic arm.
In the comics, Reavers are cybernetically-enhanced individuals that share a mission on making life a living hell for Wolverine. Visually-speaking, the Reavers in this film bear a striking resemblance to Marvel’s Strikeforce X – humans who undergo experimentation to gain superhuman abilities and senses.
All will be explained when “Logan” comes to theaters on March 3, 2017.
