Josh Wilding at Hey U Guys posted interviews from his time touring the “Xavier Mansion” at Parkwood Estates last month. Featured are discussions with Lana Condor (Jubilee), Carolina Bartczak (Magda) and Rita Ciccozzi (Makeup Department Head), who were onsite to help promote X-MEN: APOCALYPSE on Blu-ray and DVD.
“I saw the film before we did our London press tour; I was disappointed because obviously we worked for a couple days on it,” said Condor on the deleted mall sequence featuring Jubilee, Nightcrawler, Jean Grey and Cyclops. “I just think it’s such a cool scene, so I was disappointed, but my disappointment turned to happiness because now it’s on the DVD, that’s why you should go buy it!”
“This was the least amount of work I had to do for an audition,” said Bartczak on how she got the role of Magneto’s wife, Magda. “I literally just sent a self tape and I knew that they were looking for Eastern-European. I didn’t know what the project was, they kept it very hush-hush, but I kinda used my detective skills and kinda had a feeling what i was auditioning for. So I decided to do the audition in English, then use a Eastern European accent and then in Polish just to give them that extra little bit and then three weeks later I got cast.”
“For the 80’s, I wanted to keep it a bit subdued for the 80’s,” said makeup department head, Ciccozzi. “There’s a few characters in our cast that were full 80’s, but I wanted the 80’s to play out more around our characters in the background and day-players, because a lot of the mutant characters kind of have a look of their own.”
