Sophie Turner confirms return as Jean Grey for new X-MEN movie filming later this year.

Attending the BAFTA awards, X-MEN: APOCALPYSE Jean Grey actress Sophie Turner confirmed that she and cast will return to film another entry in the mutant saga, saying “We’re about to start shooting the next X-Men.” Turner has “a busy year lined up” and says that she has “a couple movies to do before X-Men starts.”

The next X-MEN film is being written by “Days of Future Past” and “Apocalypse” scribe Simon Kinberg. The film will take place in the 90’s and allegedly feature elements from Marvel’s The Dark Phoenix saga.

There’s major crossover potential with Josh Boone’s THE NEW MUTANTS, as both films will share close production schedules in Montreal this Spring and Summer. Professor Xavier (James McAvoy) and Storm (Alexandra Shipp), among others, are also rumored to have dual roles between both films.
