Brolin’s casting is said to include a a multi-picture deal for four films.
After appearing in the David Leitch-directed Deadpool 2, Cable (and ‘Atlanta’ actress Zazie Beetz’s Domino) are expected to spin off into X-FORCE, which has potential for its own trilogy, if it proves successful.
‘Deadpool’ reportedly begins filming this June in Vancouver for release in 2018. ‘X-Force’ is rumored for 2019.
Cable was co-created by Deadpool co-creator Rob Liefeld and writer Louise Simonson. In the comics, he’s the future adult son of Cyclops.
Brolin also appears in the Marvel Cinematic Universe as the villainous Thanos.
