Fox television has announced that they’ve officially picked up showrunner Matt Nix’s THE GIFTED series for a Fall premiere. A quick teaser for the X-Men universe pilot, directed by longtime film director and producer Bryan Singer, has made its way online.
Fans can expect the first full trailer on Monday, May 15.
This initial preview doesn’t show a ton, but we get our first look at some of the cast and their mutant powers in action.
In related news, Singer congratulated cast and crew, instagramming a new photo of actress Emma Dumont as the “magnetic” Lorna Dane aka Polaris. Not sure what’s going on in this shot, but it’s definitely intriguing.
In “The Gifted,” two ordinary parents find out their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.
The show will star Stephen Moyer as Reed, Amy Acker as Caitlin, Natalie Alyn Lind as Lauren, Percy Hynes White as Andy, Jamie Chung as Blink, Blair Redford as Thunderbird, Sean Teale as Eclipse), Emma Dumont as Polaris and Coby Bell as Jace.
