Intriguing casting additions revealed for Simon Kinberg’s X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX.

According to The Hashtag Show, model/ newcomer actress Kota Eberhardt (The Persian Connection) has landed a role in Simon Kinberg’s X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX. The role is being kept under wraps for now, but the original character breakdown used the pseudonym “Luna.” Rumors are that she could be playing Selene, Lorelei or Layla Miller, though that’s pure speculation for now.

Scott Shepard (Jason Bourne) has been cast as Jean Grey’s father. It’ll be interesting to see if this is for a flashback scene or during the film’s 1991 setting. In X3, we never had the chance to see Famke Janssen’s interpretation of the character interact with her parents, though they did appear in one scene when she was a child.

In other exciting casting news, they reveal that mutants Toad and Ink are coming back! That’s right, actors Evan Jonigkeit and Gregg Lowe are expected to return as their characters from 2014’s X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST. Looks like Magneto will have his Brotherhood…or will that be the Acolytes or even the Hellfire Club?

“Dark Phoenix” is currently filming through October in Montreal for a November 2, 2018 theatrical release.
