Evan Peters on Simon Kinberg making his directorial debut with DARK PHOENIX.

Besides a casting confirmation, we haven’t heard much about Evan Peters’ involvement as the mutant speedster Quicksilver in next year’s X-MEN: DARK PHOENIX. During production in Montreal, Peters concurrently worked on FX’s American Horror Story, so fans wondered how much filming the actor actually completed. While we don’t have word on that, Collider was able to get his opinion on writer Simon Kinberg making his directorial debut with such a massive film.

“He was great,” he said enthusiastically. “He’s been on set for all of those movies, so he’s seen it all going down. What’s cool about it is that he’s the writer and he knows what he wants. He knows the story. He was always on set helping out, but now he gets to be in charge, which is really cool because they’re really Simon’s babies. It was cool to see him get to have his vision completed, wholly as his own. He was great to work with. It’s a cool opportunity, and I’m glad he got to do it ‘cause it was very cool.

We’re all eager to see what Kinberg will bring with his fully-realized chapter in the X-Men franchise. With just under a year to go, hopefully the first previews will come sooner rather than later.

Dark Phoenix flies into theaters on November 2, 2018.

Thanks @JenLawFilms for the heads up!
