Bryan Singer’s X-MEN: APOCALYPSE brought in more than $375,814 during its third weekend in Japan from over 427 theater screens. It has earned $7.36 million (so far) in the country. This bumps the worldwide box office total to an estimated $542.86 million. That’s about $200 million less than what DAYS OF FUTURE PAST made back in 2014.
Considering that was an event film involving two sets of casts on a production budget of $200 million, Apocalypse, which had a somewhat lower budget of $178 million, did good, but not great. Still…it received respectable numbers, despite strong backlash from critics.
