The public are coming out in droves to witness Hugh Jackman’s “one last time” time playing Wolverine in James Mangold’s LOGAN finale. The film exceeded original box office predictions of $64 million, by earning $88.3 million from 4,071 domestic theaters.
That makes it the largest R-rated film opening ever in the month of March.
‘Logan’ had a production cost of $97 million.
The film had great business in China, the world’s 2nd largest market for movies. It made $46.2 million after undergoing 14 minutes of editing to meet new film industry laws; it’s the first film to be affected by this.
Its worldwide haul (as of now) stands at an impressive $240.8 million.
Holding strong with a 93% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and an A- Cinemascore, this easily marks Hugh Jackman’s most successful tenure as the iconic mutant.
What a way to go out!
